About NKY Entrepreneurship Council

Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporationʼs Entrepreneurship Council launched in summer 2018 as a way of leveraging partnerships across sectors to advance entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the NKY region. The initiative has attracted $2.8 million through the the Commonwealthʼs RISE grant and the federal i6 Challenge grant. The RISE grant, in partnership with a regional collaboration of organizations and Northern Kentucky University, will focus on informatics, health innovation and logistics innovation – centers of excellence for the region. Horizon Community Funds, with the support of our generous donors, provided matching funds for the RISE grant with other community partners for a total benefit of $1.5 million. Additionally, the i6 Challenge grant, in partnership with the NKU Institute of Health Innovation and St. Elizabeth Healthcare, will create jobs and attract companies and talent in the health innovation sector to the eight-county NKY region. The true spirit of collaboration that drives Northern Kentucky forward is evident in this new initiative.
